Four in for suburban rolling stock
Four bids are under evaluation at Societe Nationale des Transports Ferroviaires (SNTF) following the opening of commercial bids for a contract to supply 64 train carriages to be used for suburban transport around the capital. They are: Canada's Bombardier; Stadler of Switzerland; France's Alstom; and Spain's Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles. Five companies bid following the issue of tenders by SNTF in July, but the offer from Germany's Siemens was not retained due to non-conformity. ..
