Halcrow and WorleyParsons secure power and wastewater work

Qatar Petroleum awards $2.7m Mesaieed contracts

Qatar Petroleum has awarded two power and wastewater contracts for QR10m ($2.7m) in the Mesaieed area of southern Qatar.

The UK’s Halcrow won the first QR2.9m contract to build a power network in the Gabbro area of Mesaieed.

Halcrow will carry out the front-end engineering and design (Feed) work for a high voltage network. It will execute the project according to Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation’s standards and approvals.

Separately, Australia’s WorleyParsons won a QR7.1m Feed contract to upgrade the existing sewer system and wastewater treatment facilities at Mesaieed. The company will also prepare the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning tender.
