Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has invited firms to bid by 14 August for the contract to reconstruct and upgrade multiple roads and intersections in Doha.
The project covers the reconstruction and upgrade of approximately 9 kilometres of roads along B-Ring Road, Al-Khaleej Street, Onaiza (Al-Istiqlal) Street, and Al-Rayyan Road.
The project comprises the construction and upgrade of the following:
- Seven existing at-grade intersections along B-Ring Road and Al-Khaleej Street.
- Two existing at-grade intersections along Onaiza (Al Istiqlal) Street
- One existing grade separated interchange at the intersection between Al-Rayyan Road and Al-Khaleej Street; Gulf (Mannai) intersection
- One new signalised at-grade pedestrian crossing along B-Ring Road approximately midway between the intersections of Al-Matar Street and Ras Abu Abboud
Ashghal awarded an estimated $2.6bn-worth of road contracts in 2017, according to regional tracker MEED Projects.
An estimated $1.4bn-worth of contracts are due to be awarded this year.
