Swiss firm will provide electrical components for four solar plants
Switzerlands ABB has been awarded a contract to provide equipment for four solar plants with a total power capacity of 50MW in Jordan.
ABB has helped with design for the plants, and will be responsible for the manufacture, supply and commissioning of 45 central inverters, 24 36kV compartments on skid (MVCS), power plant controller (PPC) and 36kV delivery stations.
The four solar plants will be located near the cities of Maan and Mafraq. The largest plant, 20MW capacity, will be located in the Mafraq area, with the other three 10MW plants to be located at locations in the areas of Al-Ward al-Joury, Al-Zahrat and Al-Zanbag, which are near the south-central Jordanian city of Maan.
