Biography: Abdelali Haoudi joined the Qatar Foundation as vice-president for research in 2007.
He previously lectured at the department of microbiology and molecular cell biology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in the US, and has been a scientist, visiting scientist or visiting professor at biomedical institutes across the world.
His main research interests are the development of therapeutic approaches for cancer, viral oncology and functional genomics.
In 2003, Haoudi founded the International Council of Biomedicine and Biotechnology with the aim of promoting and supporting bio-medical research and biotechnology in developing countries.
