Biography: Abdulla Abdulaziz al-Subaei is the managing director of Qatar Railways Company and has been in the post since the company was formed in March 2011. Before his current position, Al-Subaei worked at the Electricity and Water Ministry as well as the General Electricity & Water Authority (Kahramaa).

During his time with Kahramaa, Al-Subaei managed and planned electricity generation and transmission projects worth millions of riyals, as well as infrastructure projects, including the Towers Area, among others. Al-Subaei was also CEO of Smeet, an affiliate of Qatari Diar Investment Company.

Al-Subaei graduated with an electrical engineering degree from the University of Qatar in 1996, and completed a master’s degree in business administration from the same institution in 2006.
