ABM wins work on two Emaar projects

The local Al-Basti & Muktha (ABM) has been awarded the latest construction package on local developer Emaar Properties'Old Town project in the Burj Dubai development. ABM has also started work on the next phase of the Golf Towers scheme, also being promoted by Emaar (MEED 2:9:05; 1:4:05).

At Old Town, ABM has been awarded the estimated AED 420 million ($114 million) contract to build phase 2, site B, which entails the construction of 14 three-10 storey residential blocks. The project manager is the UK's Mace International. The architect is South Africa's DSA. ABM began work on Old Town phase 2, site A1 earlier this year. The local/UK Al-Futtaim Carillionwas awarded the contract for phase 2 site A2.

ABMhas also started work on phase 2 of Golf Towers at Emaar'sViews development next to Emirates Golf Club. The estimated AED 350 million ($95 million) contract entails the construction of two towers and smaller townhouses at podium level. The local National Engineering Bureau (NEB) is the consultant.
