Abu Dhabi says its urban masterplan - Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 - will adddress the shortage of residential and office space in the capital.

“There is a shortage at the moment,” says Falah Al-Ahbabi, general manager of the Urban Planning Council. “But with this plan, it will be solved in the near future.”
The masterplan includes details of new urban areas that will accommodate a population of more than 3 million people by 2030. A number of major projects are already under construction around the capital, including Al-Raha Beach and Al-Reem, Saadiyat, Yas and Suwwa islands.
The masterplan includes provisions for more supply to come on stream in the near future.
