Contract covers operational readiness at the midfield terminal

The Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) covering operational readiness consultancy services for the new midfield terminal complex at Abu Dhabi airport.

The consultancy services contract will involve ensuring that the terminal and associated airport facilities, once complete, are ready to operate safely and efficiently.

The deadline for submission of RFP documents is 14 July.

The ADAC is looking for a consultant that has had similar experience of working on international airport facilities of similar size to the midfield terminal complex, which is set to have an annual capacity of 27-40 million passengers.

The Midfield Terminal will be built between the two existing runways at Abu Dhabi International airport. The total built-up area will be 630,000 sq m and it will include a multi-storey car park.

It will also comprise 65 contact gates that will be able to accommodate the Airbus A380 aircraft, as well as house 27,000 square metres of retail and food and beverage outlets.
