Abu Dhabi Global Marketplace will be chaired by Ahmed Ali Mohammed al-Sayegh
Abu Dhabi has appointed a chairman and board for its new financial freezone, which is being built on Al-Maryah island.
Ahmed Ali Mohammed al-Sayegh was appointed chairman of Abu Dhabi Global Marketplace (ADGM). Other positions he holds include chairman of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Media, CEO of Dolphin Energy Limited, as well as board member of several Abu Dhabi-based companies.
Mohammed Darwish Mohammed al-Khouri (a board member at Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank and executive director of internal equities at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority), Ali Majid Mubarak al-Mansouri (chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports Company), Ibrahim Obaid al-Zaabi (deputy chief executive officer for licensing, supervision and enforcement at the UAEs Securities & Commodities Authority and acting director-general at the Insurance Authority) and Mohammad Najm al-Qubaisi (director at Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development) were appointed as members of the board.
They will hold the post for a period of five years, subject to renewal.
