Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (Gasco) has pushed back the bid deadline for a contract to upgrade key gas distribution infrastructure in the emirate by a week.

The company had originally asked firms to submit commercial bids outlining cost structures for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deal by 30 September. Contractors working on proposals say the deadline has been delayed until 6 October.

The extension came after firms asked for more time to prepare bids.

The contract covers the installation of a gas booster station at the Asab field, increasing production capacity at the existing natural gas liquids plant, and replacing a natural gas pipeline. Gasco hopes these works will increase capacity at the site by 150 million cubic feet a day (cf/d).
