Bids to be submitted by end of July
Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC) has issued a request for proposals to qualified companies to operate and maintain the emirate’s wastewater network.
A pre-bid conference was held on 24 May. Companies have until the end of July to submit bids. The UK’s Hyder Consulting is the adviser to ADSSC on the tender.
ADSSC is responsible for wastewater collection, treatment and disposal in Abu Dhabi. The company intends to improve wastewater networks and treatment centres in the emirate.
In February ADSSC awarded another contract for the construction of a deep-tunnel sewerage system to South Korea’s Samsung C&T Engineering & Construction (MEED 15:2:11).
The contract, worth AED990m ($270m), covers the construction of a 16-kilometre network, four operating shafts and three access shafts. Samsung C&T is to design and build the project by 2014. Two similar contracts were also awarded to Italy’s Impregilo.
