Fourteen contractors compete to build project on corniche

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has prequalified 14 contractors for a deal to build its corporate headquarters n Abu Dhabi Corniche.

The contractors will submit technical proposals at the end of October, with commercial bids due at the end of November.

The project is adjacent to the current Adnoc headquarters at the intersection of Corniche road and Bainunah street.

The scheme includes an office tower, podium and atrium, basement parking areas, underground parking blocks, and an underground tunnel connecting the office tower with the underground parking block. The total built-up area is about 190,000 square metres.

The local Arabian Foundations has started work on the enabling works package. The architect is US-based HOK. The US’ Hill International is the project manager (MEED 3:9:09).

The prequalifiers are the UAE’s Alec, Al-Habtoor Leighton Group, Arabtec Construction, Greece’s Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), Germany’s Ed Zueblin, Saudi Arabia’s El-Seif Engineering & Contracting, South Korea’s GS Engineering & Construction, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Kumho Engineering & Construction, and Samsung Corportion, Kuwait’s Mohammed Abdulmohsin al-Kharafi & Sons, Turkey’s Nurol, Italy’s Rizzani de Eccher, and Belgium’s Six Construct Abu Dhabi.
