The Supervision Committee for the Expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport (Scadia) has received proposals from four companies for the midfield terminal complex on the first phase of the estimated $6,800 million redevelopment of Abu Dhabi airport.

They are Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum (HOK), Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM)and Kohn Pederson Fox Associates (KPF), all US-based, and the US’ Fentress Bradburn & Associateswith Australia’s GHD. Phase 1, to be completed by 2010, is designed to handle 20 million passengers a year. The US’ Parsons Internationalis the programme manager (MEED 9:9:05).
