Abu Dhabi restructures Tourism & Culture Authority

New members were named on 4 August in a resolution issued by the crown prince

  • CEO of Aldar Properties named chairman
  • Other members include Director of General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs

Mohammed Khalifa Ahmed al-Mubarak has been named the new chairman of the board of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA).

The move is part of a restructuring made by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, who issued a resolution on 4 August.

Al-Mubarak is also CEO of Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties.

Other members of the Board of Directors are, Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Mohammed Ibrahim Mahmoud al-Mahmoud, Mansour Ibrahim Ahmed al-Mansouri, Ali Saleh Ali Mohammed bin Tamim, Director of General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs-Abu Dhabi, Reem Yousef Mohammed Abdullah al-Shammari, Humaid Mattar Salim Badar al-Dhaheri, Hareb Mubarak Abdullah al-Muhairi, and a representative of the Department of Economic Development.

The TCA manages Abu Dhabi’s tourism sector and markets it internationally through a wide range of activities and major events. It aims at attracting both culturally sensitive visitors as well as increased investment.

The Authority also oversees the development of the new, landmark museums in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island Cultural District, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

The Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) was created as the tourism asset management and development branch of the TCA.
