Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (Adwea) has said its smart metering programme is set for completion by April 2011, Meed has reported. The scheme allows for a fully automatic meter reading along with a meter intelligence monitoring and data capturing system. Of Adwea’s 500,000 customers in Abu Dhabi and Al-Ain, around 80% have been wired up to the smart grid, Adwea senior technician, Saeed Nassouri, said.
