The local Arkan Building Material Company is to build a lime plant in the Arkan Industrial Park in Al-Ain.

The plant will have a capacity of more than 1,000 tonnes of lime per day. Production at the plant is scheduled to start in 2012.

The products manufactured at the plant will be exported to countries throughout the Middle East.

“We have the capability to produce high-quality lime and in an environmentally friendly manner. With a capacity of nearly 1,000 tonnes, products manufactured at our new lime facility will not only be distributed locally, but also exported to other countries in the wider region,” says Abdellatif al-Sfaxi, chief executive officer at Arkan.
