This is the first international project for Abu Dhabi Airports

Abu Dhabi Airports has signed an agreement with the Seychelles Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Transport for the redevelopment of Mahe International airport.

Ali Majed al-Mansoori, Abu Dhabi Airports chairman, said the memorandum of understanding (MoU) enhances its reputation as a “world-class airport operator”.

“Our aim is to help to deliver an updated passenger terminal operating to the highest international standards,” Al-Mansoori said in a statement.

With temperatures averaging 27 degrees Celsius all year-round, Seychelles is a major holiday destination for UAE residents as well as visitors from all over the world. Mahe, the capital, is within five hours’ flying time from Abu Dhabi or Dubai.

Formed in 2008, Abu Dhabi Airports operates and manages Abu Dhabi International airport. It also operates four other airports in the emirate: Al-Ain International; Al-Bateen Executive; Delma; and Sir Bani Yas airport.
