Lebanese contractor is working on interior package of Cairo hotel
Lebanon’s Arabian Construction Company (ACC) has started work on the interior finishing and mechanical electrical and plumbing (MEP) package for the Nile Ritz Carlton hotel renovation project in Cairo.
ACC was awarded the £E545m ($90m) interior works contract for the project to renovate the 370-key Nile Ritz Carlton hotel in the fourth quarter of 2011. ACC will work on interior cladding and finishing for all rooms, outlets, public places and the casino. The duration of the project is scheduled to be 18 months.
A joint venture of the local Orascom Construction Industries and the local Arab Contractors is still working on the structure rehabilitation works. US-based Hill International was appointed as project manager for the scheme (MEED 3:1:12).
The renovation project will involve modernising the 13-storey hotel, which covers a total area of 64,000 square metres. The client for the project is the local Misr Hotels Company.
