French hotel group to open two Adagio Aparthotels

France’s Accor hotel group has signed management agreements with Saudi Arabia’s Alesayi Group to operate two new Adagio Aparthotel properties in the kingdom.

The 200-unit Adagio Aparthotel Jeddah Alesayi Plaza and the 150-unit Adagio Aparthotel Riyadh Dhabab will be developed next to upcoming Ibis hotels. Both properties are scheduled to open by 2017.

“We are delighted to build on our fruitful relationship with the Alesayi Group and increase our Adagio Aparthotel portfolio in the kingdom to three properties,” said Christophe Landais, chief operating officer for Accor Hotel Services Middle East. “We are convinced that developing clusters of Ibis and Adagio Aparthotel in Jeddah and Riyadh creates a winning combination of affordable short and long-stay offerings for these strategic locations.”

The Adagio Aparthotel brand, which targets the region’s growing demand for long-term stays, has more than 10,000 apartments in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Rome, Vienna, and Monaco.

Accor operates 15 hotels in Saudi Arabia and recently forged an exclusive alliance with the Alesayi Group to expand its Ibis network, with a minimum of 10 properties in the kingdom.

Currently, Accor has seven properties in its Adagio Aparthotel portfolio in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, five of which are under development and one in operation, the Adagio Aparthotel Fujairah Town Centre.

Accor Middle East operates 65 hotels with more than 15,600 rooms in the region and has another 27 hotels under development, bringing the number of properties to 92.
