Bids in for front-end engineering and project management tenders
Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco) has received bids for the front-end engineering and design (feed) and project management consultancy (PMC) contracts on a project to expand production capacity at the Bab and Habshan fields.
Both technical and commercial bids for both contracts have been submitted and Adco is now reviewing the technical bids for the tenders.
US-based Fluor, Mustang Engineering and Foster Wheeler, Australia’s WorleyParsons, and UK-based Mott Macdonald have bid for the feed contract. The deal will be worth about $10m, according to a source at a bidding company.
Mustang Engineering, WorleyParsons, Mott Macdonald and UK-based Amec are competing to win the PMC contract.
The Bab field will undergo an upgrade that will see its crude output increase by 150,000 barrels a day (b/d) by 2017, says the company. Bab is part of a mature reservoir and Adco is using enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques to inject water and gas into the fields to maintain pressure. The field is located in a desert area about 160 kilometres southwest of Abu Dhabi city.
