Six companies submitted technical bids by 5 November for the compressor package on the Bu Hasa oil field production facilities and reservoirs development project in Abu Dhabi (MEED 25:10:02).

The bidders are Dresser Engineeringof the US, Italy's GE Nuovo Pignone, Mitsubishi Heavy Industriesand Elliott Turbo Machinery, both of Japan, and MAN Turboand Siemens Demac, both of Germany. The contract covers the supply of a gas injection compressor and related long-lead items at the G, F and D reservoirs. The release of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tender is imminent.

The Bu Hasa development includes the construction of a new degassification plant with a nameplate capacity of 730,000 barrels a day (b/d) and the replacement of existing gas separators.

It also includes the reinjection of 95 million cubic feet a day of gas and 120,000 b/d of water into the three reservoirs.

Technical bids are already under evaluation at Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (Adco)for another compression package, involving the supply of 10 gas injection compressors for the Northeast Abu Dhabi (NEAD) scheme. The bidders for the contract are the same as on the Bu Hasa project. Technical bids are also under evaluation for the project's EPC contract.

The NEAD project calls for an increase in oil production capacity from the onshore Rumaitha and Al-Dabbiyah fields to a sustainable capacity of 150,000 b/d and a maximum level of 180,000 b/d (MEED 11:10:02).
