ADIB expecting single digit credit growth

11 April 2011

Tirad Mahmoud, chief executive of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has said the lender expects to post single-digit credit growth in 2011, and said it will continue to book provisions going forward, Reuters has reported. "We don't see double digit growth, we don't see zero growth," he said. The second biggest Islamic bank in the UAE, which booked credit provisions and impairments of Dhs224.4m in the fourth quarter, will continue to take provisions in the future. "We haven't reached a point of saturation in provisions," Mahmoud said.
