Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) has awarded two contracts totalling $25m for marine works at its Capital Centre project.
The local National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) has been awarded the dredging works and another local firm, Overseas AST, has been awarded the contract to install the quay walls.
Once complete, the project will have a 300-metre-long quay wall that will provide berthing for military vessels during IDEX 2009, a defence industry exhibition due to take place in February.
A pedestrian walkway across the Khaleeji al-Arabi highway connecting the quay to the exhibition centre is also planned.
The consultant is the UK's Halcrow (MEED 6:2:08).
