Dubai-based firm will provide cable and overhead conductors for Adnoc projects

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has awarded Dubai-based electrical equipment manufacturer Ducab three contracts totalling $60m for the supply of more than 5,000km of extra-high-voltage (EHV), high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) cables, and AAAC overhead conductors for its projects in Abu Dhabi.

The new contracts include the design, manufacturing and supply of 220kV EHV cables and 132kV HV cables, along with a range of MV and LV power and control cable systems for a clean fuel and waste heat recovery project being executed by a consortium of Samsung Engineering (South Korea) and CB&I (part of McDermott, US).

Ducab will also supply a complete range of cables for the Bab integrated facility project, as well as cables and aluminium overhead conductors from its new DAC factory for Adnoc’s onshore Qusahwira field development phase 2 project.

Ducab did not reveal the financial value of its contracts.

"Ducab cables are all designed and produced within the UAE, reducing the traditional need for oil and gas companies to rely on international suppliers to source their power cabling," it said in a statement.
