Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has renewed UK-based engineering firm Wood Group’s contract to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services to the Upper Zakum offshore mega project that produces 750,000 barrels a day.
Wood, which secured the PMC role in 2008, said it has secured a one-year extension to its contract, effective from 1 January, 2019.
The work will be executed from Wood’s Abu Dhabi office and includes PMC services for the development which comprises four new artificial islands and the associated drilling, production, utilities and infield pipeline facilities.
With regards to Adnoc’s In-Country Value programme, Wood said its contract extension has the potential to create around 80 jobs.
Wood on 12 November announced being awarded another package of three PMC contracts by Adnoc to provide services for its onshore fields.
