UK power specialist wins load testing for 400-kilometre crude oil pipeline in the UAE
China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC) has awarded the UK power specialist Aggreko a contract to supply load testing on the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (Adcop) project in the UAE.
The contract will see Aggreko provide a 10MW loadbank test to the main incoming switchgear on the project. The work is being done to avoid the risk of the installed equipment being damaged by power failures once it is fully operational.
The 400km Adcop pipeline will transport up to 1.5 million barrels a day (b/d) of crude oil from Abu Dhabi’s oilfields to an oil terminal at Fujairah.
