Ahmed Mansoor bids for Bahrain Financial Harbour work

05 February 2009
Bahrain’s Electricity & Water Authority has received four bids from a single company for the contract to build water reservoirs and a pumping station at Bahrain Financial Harbour.

The local Ahmed Mansoor Al Aali Company priced four different options for the work. It offered prices of BD13.5m ($36m), BD$14m, BD14.8m and BD17.9m.

In October 2008, Tabreed Bahrain signed an agreement with Canada's SNC Lavalin to build a district cooling plant at Bahrain Financial Harbour.

Tabreed Bahrain is a joint venture of UAE-based National Cooling Company (Tabreed) and two local firms, Esterad Investment Company and AA Bin Hindi Group (MEED 20:10:08).

Bahrain Financial Harbour will cover an area of 380,000 square metres once complete, and will include office space, residential accommodation, hotels, and leisure and entertainment facilities.
