Air Arabia, the largest low-cost carrier in the Mena region, plans to launch service to Shiraz, Iran, from June 25, 2008. Flights will initially operate four times per week between Shiraz and Air Arabia's hub in Sharjah. Shiraz is Air Arabia's second destination in Iran, the other being the capital, Tehran.
