The Public Works & Housing Ministry has received bids for the third phase of the project to build the new highway between Dubai and Fujairah.
The low bidder is the local/Greek Al-Ahmadiah Aktor with a price of AED427m ($116m), which is 38 per cent lower than the price of AED697m submitted by Nael & bin Harmal. The other bidders are local/Cypriot National Wheel J&P at AED698m, the local Emirates Road Contracting at AED704m, the local Wade Adams Contracting also at AED704m, and Saudi-based Al-Rajhi Construction at AED807m.
The third phase of the freeway involves building the section of road leading into Fujairah city.
J&P is working on the first two phases of the project in Sharjah and Fujairah.
The consultant is the local Al-Turath Consultants with the US’ Wilbur Smith & Associates (MEED 2:6:06).
