Al-Arrab bids low for university substation contract

Najen al-Jazeera, a subsidiary of the Riyadh-based Al-Arrab Contracting Company (ACC), has submitted the lowest bid for the substation at Hail University.

The contract for the 132/13.8kv substation, which will supply the new university compound, is valued at SR74m ($20m). The work is scheduled to take 24 months.

The client is the University of Hail, but the work will be supervised and managed by the Saudi Electric Company.

ACC is also one of the bidders for the Northern Border security fence contract which is due to be awarded in the coming months. The 900-kilometre, double-lined fence will include 135 electronically-controlled gates, ultraviolet and radio detection sensors.
