Contractor to supply units for 786 villas being built in Western Region, Abu Dhabi
Dubai-based Al-Futtaim Engineering has been awarded a multi-million dirham contract by the local Dhabi Contracting and the local National Transport Contracting Company to supply 14,500 air conditioner units for a real estate project in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.
The contract will see Al-Futtaim Enigineerings air conditioning division supply Sanyo air conditioners to 786 villas that are being built in Ghayathi for Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada).
In July 2012, Musanada awarded Dhabi Contracting an estimated AED625m ($170m) contract to build 433 villas for UAE nationals in Ghayathi, which is about 25 kilometres south of Ruwais.
Two months later, Musanda awarded a second contract worth an estimated AED500m ($136m) to the local National Transport & Construction to build a further 353 residential units in Ghayathi.
Abu Dhabi says it plans to build projects worth $66bn in the Western Region, also known as Al-Gharbia by 2030, as part of its regional structure framework plan.
