Voyer relocates to Dubai for senior role

The Dubai/Australian Al-Habtoor Leighton Group has appointed Laurie Voyer as the new managing director of the group replacing David Savage from 1 October.

Voyer relocated to Dubai in July and has spent the last two months working with Savage in a transition phase.

Before moving to Dubai, he was deputy managing director for Leighton Contractors and was in charge of the company’s construction and mining operations across Australia and New Zealand.

Leighton Contractors is part of the Sydney-based Leighton Group, which is a 40 per cent shareholder of Al-Habtoor Leighton.

Savage will move to Australia to take up his role at the Leighton Group. He will remain an executive director of Al-Habtoor Leighton.

Savage was the managing director of Al-Habtoor Leighton since it started in September 2007, after the merger of Dubai-based Al-Habtoor Engineering with Leighton’s operations in the Gulf (MEED 29:5:09).
