Contractor to build six concrete reservoirs and water pipeline at Duhail project
Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has awarded the Dubai/Australian Al-Habtoor Leighton Group a QR750m ($206m) contract to build infrastructure at Duhail and Umm Qarn.
The contractor will build six concrete reservoirs, a pump house, associated buildings, roadworks and landscaping for the Duhail water station project together with a 15.9-kilometre water pipeline.
For the Umm Qarn water station, Al-Habtoor Leighton will build three concrete reservoirs, a pump house, associated buildings, roadworks and landscaping, together with a 700-metre water pipeline.
The Al-Habtoor Leighton Group has two existing projects in Qatar.
It is working on the Al-Shaqab equestrian centre at Education City and the Dubai Towers project on the corniche for Sama Dubai (MEED 16:6:06).
