Al-Habtoor takes another major Abu Dhabi contract

Local company Al-Habtoor Engineering Enterprises has been awarded a AED2.25bn ($613m) contract to build a mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi.

Known as the Al-Bustan project, the contract involves the construction of five 17-storey towers above a five-level carpark and includes a hotel, office tower, serviced apartments and retail and food outlets.

Completion is expected in October 2010. The client is the local Al-Hamid Group.

The contract is the latest secured by Al-Habtoor in Abu Dhabi. It was recently awarded the estimated AED7bn ($1.9bn).Tameer Towers project on Reem Island in a joint venture with South Africa’s Murray & Roberts Contractors (Middle East) and Saudi-based Al-Rajhi Contracting (MEED 4:6:08).
