Al-Hani submits lowest bid for Kuwait conference centre

Four companies have submitted bids for the conference centre at Bayan Palace in Kuwait.

Al-Ghanim International General Trading & Contracting Company, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi & Sons Group, Ahmadiah Contracting & Trading and Al-Hani Construction & Trading Company, all local, have submitted bids for the works.

Al-Hani was the low-bidder with a price of KD28m ($105m).

The contract covers the construction of a conference centre to hold 1,200 people, and all support facilities. The project duration will be 500 days.

The plot area is 8,000 square metres and the built up area will be 17,000 sq m. The structure will be made up of a basement and two-storeys. A car park for 200 vehicles is included in the package.

The Public Works Ministry is the client and the contract is expected to be awarded by June.
