Four companies had submitted bids for the work. The other bidders were Al-Ghanim International General Trading & Contracting Company, Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi & Sons Group and Ahmadiah Contracting & Trading.
Al-Hani was the low-bidder. The contract is worth KD27.9m ($105m).
The contract covers the design and construction of a conference centre that will able to host 1,200 people and all support facilities. The project duration will be 17 months (MEED 1:5:08).
The Ministry of Public Works is the client.
Another local company, Al-Amiah has been selected for the KD14.2m contract for the construction of a health centre at Bayan Palace.
