Al-Khadda submits low bid for emergency shutdown system

09 January 2008
The local Al-Khadda International General Trading & Contracting Company has emerged as the low bidder to modify and upgrade emergency shutdown valves at several gathering centres across Kuwait.

The company has submitted a bid of KD4 million ($14m) for the contract.

Six other local contractors priced the work. The client, the Kuwait Oil Company, will award the contract by the end of the first quarter.

The project is aimed at improving monitoring and safety systems at the gathering centres to ensure that the flow of crude oil is stopped or slowed in the event of a leak or incident that requires urgent system shutdown (MEED 9:12:07).
