Work to include construction of three towers
Dubai-based Al-Shafar General Contracting (ASGC) has won a contract from the local real estate developer Ishraqah for Development to proceed with the second milestone of the Onyx project, which is located near the Greens and Emaar Business Park on Sheikh Zayed Road in the emirate.
The scope of the scheme includes construction of three towers that will include a business hotel comprising 210 rooms, a commercial tower and a mixed-use tower, in addition to retail facilities and restaurants integrated in the buildings podium, which will have four floors. The total project built-up area is about 200,000 square metres.
ASGC replaced another local contractor, Arabtec Construction, on the scheme in 2010.
In June, ASGC was selected by the local developer Meraas Holdings to build new residential blocks at its City Walk project in Dubai. The scope of the two-year contract covers the construction of 21 low-to-medium-rise apartment buildings in Jumeirah near Sheikh Zayed Road.
