Saudi Arabia's Al-Zamil Glass Industries has won orders worth $3.2 million in total on projects in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Al-Zamil is to supply 5,000 square metres of specialist glass for the 15-storey El-Seef Tower in Bahrain, and 3,000 square metres each for the Bahrain Airport hotel and the new Al-Hasa Holiday Inn in Saudi Arabia.

The main contractor for the El-Seef project is Mannai Engineering Company of Bahrain. The tower, for the headquarters of Bahrain Housing Bank, was planned as a 10-storey building with another five floors recently added to the project (MEED 28:11:97). Other sub-contractors include Bemco and Mannai Aluminium Services, both of Bahrain. Mannai Engineering expects completion of the works by August 2001.

Al-Zamil will also supply heat mirror glass for the Bahrain Airport hotel and the Al-Hasa Holiday Inn. The glass company's contracts on the two hotels are valued at $2 million in total.
