Known as Aldar Readymix, the joint venture will have a capacity of 15,000 cubic metres a-day (cm/d) and will supply Aldar projects including Al-Raha Beach, Yas island and the redevelopment of central market. Al Raha Beach alone currently has four on-site concrete batching plants with a total production output of 6,000 cm/d. Aldar Readymix plans to add another eight plants before the end of 2008 bringing the total production capacity to well over 15,000 cm/d.
“This partnership will ensure that the concrete used for our development projects is of the highest possible quality. As part of our commitment to maintaining international standards, we are continually streamlining processes as well as augmenting our practices. Aligning with Readymix Abu Dhabi ensures that the highest standards will be utilised in the construction of our developments,” said Aldar chief executive Ronald Barrott.
