  • Sonatrach invites firms to prequalify to supply gas compressor stations for GR6 pipeline
  • One compressor station is due to be constructed near Ourgla and the other close to Rhourde Nouss gas field

Algeria’s state-owned energy company Sonatrach has invited contractors to prequalify ahead of the tendering of two gas compressor stations for the pipeline known as GR6.

One compressor station is due to be built near Ourgla, the capital city of Ourgla province, and the other close to the Rhourde Nouss gas field, which is also located in Ourgla province.

The value of each compressor station is estimated to be about $200m.

Contractors have two weeks to submit applications to participate in the tender.

Algeria is trying to ramp up oil and gas exports amid declining revenues due to the collapse in energy prices over the second half of 2014.
