Algeria’s National Agency for Design & Management Djamaa el-Djazair (Anargema) has invited companies to express interest in building a mosque and cultural centre in the Mohammadia area of Algiers.

The project covers an area of 20,000 square metres. The mosque will be able to accommodate 36,000 people. It will have a 70-metre high dome and a 270-metre minaret.

The cultural centre will have a 16,100 sq m auditorium and a 21,800 sq m library.

The scheme also covers the construction of a postgraduate school known as Dar al-Quran, covering an area of 21,300 sq m with three levels of underground parking measuring 180,000 square metres.

The engineering consultant is Canada’s Dessau-Soprin (MEED 30:6:06).
