Nakheel is also expected to award by late September the contract to build Mediterranean Gardens Contemporary and Mediterranean Gardens II. Four companies have been invited to bid for the project, which calls for the construction of 36 four-five storey-units. Tender documents are also being drawn up for the Cactus, Mogul and Mesoamerican phases of the project, with awards expected by the end of the year.

The local Al-Naboodah Engineering Servicesis carrying out the infrastructure contract for the entire project (MEED 25:6:04). When completed, Discovery Gardens will comprise six themed residential areas with various horticultural themes (MEED 23:7:04).
