Biography: Ali Sharif Zubi is the senior partner at Jordan’s largest law firm, Ali Sharif Zubi Advocates & Legal Consultants.
He was minister of trade and industry from April 2005 to November 2006, and justice minister from November 2006 to November 2007, when he updated Jordan’s Investment Law and initiated a major overhaul and upgrade of the country’s legal and judicial system. Zubi advises on all areas of law, with a focus on privatisation and project finance, foreign investment and judicial reform.
He was admitted to the Jordanian Bar in 1986, after graduating from the UK’s Bristol University with a degree in commercial law.
Ali Sharif Zubi Advocates & Legal Consultants was founded in Nazareth, Palestine, in 1921 by the late Sharif Ali Zubi. In 2003, the firm created an Iraq practice to help clients develop business opportunities in Iraq.
