Aljaber Engineering secures Ras Laffan infrastructure work

Qatar Petroleum plans to build industrial zone

State-run oil company Qatar Petroleum (QP) has awarded a QR300m ($82m) contract for infrastructure work at Ras Laffan to the local Aljaber Engineering.

QP plans to develop an existing site at Ras Laffan into an industrial zone for new industries that will support its projects in the area.

Aljaber’s contract calls for the design, detailed engineering, procurement, installation, construction of the site’s infrastructure. This covers site levelling, drainage and road construction.

QP is also tendering a new office complex at Ras Laffan. It has invited contractors to bid by 4 October for the contract to build new headquarters for its operations at Ras Laffan, where most of Qatar’s oil and gas projects are based (MEED 3:9:09).
