Alumco wins Vision Tower contract

Dubai-based Alumco has won a $22m contract to provide the aluminium facades for the Vision Tower project in Dubai’s Business Bay.

Installation is expected to be completed by the end of 2008. The client is Dubai Properties. The project’s architects are US-based TVS and UAE-based Dewan El-Emara.

The facade system has been designed to withstand high wind loads of up to 6 kilopascals (kPa) with Vision Tower rising to 264 metres high.

Alumco affiliate Al-Shafar General Contracting is working on the AED400m ($109m) main construction contract.
