Apple updates Xserve

Apple's updated Xserve workgroup server is now available in the Middle East. The server runs on Intel's latest Xeon processors, claiming a significant increase in performance per watt. The company said the server, aimed at the business, education and creative community, delivers an 89% performance increase and 19% reduction in idle power use. The Xserve uses the 2.93GHz Xeon CPU, a 128GB solid state storage boot drive and can handle up to 3 terabytes of hard disk storage. It sells for $2,999.
