Another Dubai companies looks for project opportunities in the kingdom

Dubai-based Austrian Arabian Ready Mix will establish operations in Saudi Arabia after its parent company Arabtec Holding approved its expansion plans.

The company plans to transfer some of its assets currently in Dubai to Saudi Arabia. The decision follows it sister company Arabtec Construction’s entry into the kingdom. In March it formed Arabtec Saudi Arabia in partnership with two local companies, CPC Services Company and Prime International Group Services, and in June it won the SR2bn ($532m) contract to build Lamar Tower in Jeddah.

Austrian Arabian currently has readymix production plants in Jebel Ali Industrial Area as well as the project-based temporary plants located at Al Warqa’a, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Nad al-Sheba, Dubailand, and Umm al-Quwain.

Austrian Arabian also has interests in Qatar with NBK Ready Mix Concrete Plant. The operation serves the Arabtec’s Al-Wa’ab City project and other clients in Doha.

Abu Dhabi-based Al-Hamed Development & Construction sold Austrian Arabian to Arabtec in 2005 (MEED 7:10:05).
