Saudi Aramco has awarded an offshore security contract to the local subsidiary of the US' General Dynamics.
The contract involves installing long-range integrated security systems at nine offshore sites in the Gulf, according to a Reuters report that cites anonymous sources.
Other bidders for the contract included:
- Raytheon (US)
- Rheinmetall (Germany)
- Leonardo’s Selex ES (Saudi Arabia)
The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
General Dynamics will work with the Saudi Binladin Group on the project, according to sources.
